Request Impact on the Timesheet

Learn how requests can be configured in the system and how they behave depending on your settings.

Written by Anna Szatkowska

In HRnest, the way requests work depends on both the request type and your system configuration. Different request types can affect the Timesheet in different ways.

ℹ️ The number of hours assigned to a request is based on the employee's profile or their assigned work schedule.

1️⃣ The request adds working time to the Timesheet

The system automatically records the appropriate number of working hours in the Timesheet for the days covered by the request.

Examples include:

  • Annual Leave

  • Sick Leave

  • Absence

2️⃣ The request is included in the recorded working time

This applies to requests submitted while the employee is working.

Examples include:

  • Remote Work

  • Business Trip

  • Overtime

3️⃣ The request is for informational purposes only

Informational requests do not add working time to the Timesheet and may not be directly related to employees' working time. They are used only to record specific events, which are displayed in the Timesheet report for reference.

Examples include:

  • Conference

  • Training

  • Late for work*

4️⃣ The request deducts recorded working time

Selected request types can reduce an employee's previously recorded working time. This behavior depends on your system configuration and your organization's internal policies.

Examples include:

  • Private leave

  • Late for work*

💡 Depending on your system configuration, a Late for work request can either be informational only or reduce the employee's recorded working time.

5️⃣ The request is not displayed in the Timesheet

Some request types do not affect the Timesheet and therefore are not displayed there. These are administrative requests, such as:

  • Annual leave equivalent

  • Suspension of cooperation agreements

❗ Changing how a request behaves primarily affects the Timesheet report. Not all settings will be reflected in the Work schedule execution report, so before making any changes, we recommend carefully considering how they may impact your organization's working time calculations.
